VISION CASTING BILL HYBELS VIDEO OVERVIEW: In the message “A Vision to Die For” at Willow Creek Association’s Global Leadership Summit, Bill Hybels defined vision as the painting of a picture that produces passion in people. Since the church is the hope of the world, ministry leaders need to understand the importance of a vision. Bill acknowledges that the fantasy of every senior leader is they can develop a vision solely on their own, and those they lead will happily follow it. The reality is, people may applaud or appreciate the vision, but if they haven’t had a chance to contribute to the vision they won’t have a stake in it, and so they will never own it. Smart leaders know nothing matters more than ownership of a vision. No matter how breathtaking, bold, or awe-inspiring the vision, or how powerfully it is cast, the vision will never become reality unless it is owned deeply by a significant percentage of people within the organization. Bill is convinced vision is the most powerful offensive weapon in the leader’s arsenal.
