Department Mission Statement:
To cultivate safe spaces on campus and within our Center’s programs, empowering LGBTQ students to develop their authentic
identity, and become proud, successful, engaged members of the UH community.
Department Vision Statement:
Our vision is acceptance and affirmation for LGBTQ people in every aspect of their UH experience, and a campus where equity
and respect for all prevail.
1. We will increase the number of programs that students implement that the director previously implemented. from 0 to 8

a. Increase the efficiency of the office operations.
1. Create and implement a Pre-semester Retreat for all professional and staff employees of the LGBT and WGRC.

2. Re-structure the way in which student employees and volunteers are utilized and supervised, including the job

3. Create an Ambassador Program that will include collaboration with CSI's Ignite Program to begin in FY17. 1b
4. Assist Intern and Student Orgs to plan and implement Coming Out Monologues for National Coming Out Day. 1c

Student Employee Pre-Semester Retreat
Purpose of Assessment Activity
The LGBT Resource Center's student To determine the effectiveness of the
employees will be able to carry out retreat to prepare student employees for
their job duties, work as a team, take their job.

As a result of participating in the
Mentoring program, the negative
impact of homophobia or
transphobia on the mentee's
emotions will be reduced.
Purpose of Assessment Activity
To determine the effectiveness of the
Mentoring Program in reducing the
mentees confusion, worry, discomfort, and
depression regarding their sexuality. This
will be a baseline assessment for this
program.
Method
The mentees will take a pre selfassessment on the application when they
enter the Mentor program rating their
levels in each of the four areas. After
completing the program they will take a
post-self-assessment rating their levels in
each of the four areas.
