Purpose of Assessment Activity Method
Students who participate in Coog
Radio DJ training and who actively participate in the position will be able to: o Correctly operate a sound board for a multiple-source live broadcast o Use appropriate speech techniques and Coog Radio branding for live reads o Operate WideOrbit system for building run list for the show o Produce a broadcast that meets professional standards for radio.
The purpose of this assessment is to determine students’ skill development after undergoing a Coog Radio training and on-boarding by looking at the quality of their work based upon a rubric.
Participation in the assessment will be required for DJs to attain senior membership status with certain benefits such as having a guaranteed show slot.
Students who are selected as candidates to become a Coog Radio DJ will receive hands-on training from the adviser and a student leader. They will also receive a DJ training packet with written guidelines and instructions and a copy of the rubric they will be evaluated upon. After receiving the training and given an opportunity to practice, the DJ will then record a show for evaluation. The adviser and station director will evaluate the recording based on a rubric for assessing production quality. At the end of the assessment students will be given specific areas for improvement.

A panel of news professionals, community training, development and practical experience, students will be able to produce a newspaper that adheres to professional standards for print provide a summative, structured evaluation of the student newspaper that will identify areas where students need to improve their work through the members, journalism faculty and the newspaper adviser, will complete rubrics for a specific sample - four newspaper editions, three from the first half of the application of journalistic standards and leadership. The assessment attempts to look at student learning by examining the actual work product.

Purpose of Assessment Activity
Learning Outcome: As a result of training, development and practical experience, students will be able to produce consistent television programming customized for a college audience.
Method
The purpose of this assessment is to determine student producers' skill development after undergoing a series of training and advising sessions, practice and hands-on learning, by looking at the finished work product. Because the final product is team-based, the feedback will not be directed at a single student but to the production team as a whole.
Producers of the main lineup of CoogTV will submit two of what they consider to be their best episodes to be reviewed. A rubric-based review will be administered by the adviser with a panel including video faculty and community members.
Rubric will be developed by Sept. 1 and shared with production teams in
October. Two episodes will be submitted by
Dec. 4, 2015. Results will be shared with groups week of Dec.

Purpose of Assessment Activity Method
Program objective: The Center for
Student Media will deliver customer service to business partners, service clients, media subjects and community members that result in high satisfaction and loyalty.
The purpose of this assessment is to gather feeedback regarding customer experiences in dealing with the CSM through one of our service centers: Media Services or
Advertising and Marketing. Feedback will be used to improve service delivery, followup and other aspects of the business model that impact the customer experience.
Baseline survey will ask questions about the type of service and perceptions of satisfaction, timeliness, effectiveness and value. It will also ask about intent to continuing to use services and whether they would recommend services to others
(loyalty).
A customer experience survey will be set up in
Baseline with a yearlong lifetime, effective Sept. 1 and ending May 31. Every customer will receive a prompt to take the survey every month they receive an invoice, and again at the end of each semester.

Purpose of Assessment Activity Method
Program objective: Provide innovative and effective programming through multiple platforms (web, print, broadcast, mobile).
The purpose of this assessment is to determine what changes have occurred to the awareness and usage of student media and provide insight into trends in usage of student media. The results will inform the development of new programming as well as branding and marketing initiatives.
Student Media Awareness Survey (See:
Baseline, Fall 2012), updated version to focus on mobile usage, brand awareness, media preferences. Sample: Stratified sample of 4,000 UH students with a response rate goal of 10%.
