Research Guides
Research Guides (sometimes also known as Libguides) are guides put together by your friendly WKU
librarians to assist you with your library research. Contents vary by subject, but most contain the
following types of information:






A list of the databases WKU has to look up information on topics in the subject area
A list of print resources in the subject which can be found at WKU Libraries
A list of web and online resources helpful for the subject
The Librarian who is the specialist in the subject area, and his/her contact information
A link to the departmental home pages associated with the subject
Handouts and tutorials which can be used for your classes specific to the subject
Your subject librarians will be happy to create a research guide specifically for your classes. They can
create a tab in the research guides for classes and tailor the information within for your class’s
information needs. Contact you subject specialist librarian to collaborate to create a research guide!
