Course Objective
After studying this semester the student should be do the following.
1) Compare & contrast the signs & symptoms of selected
pulmonary disorder.
2) Discuss the management of selected disorder.
3) USE the nursing process as a frame work for care of the
selected disorder.
4) Describe the pathophysiology of chronic obstructive lung
disease & associated symptoms found in physical
examination.
5) Describe risk factor for , & measures appropriate for
prevention & management of pulmonary embolisim.
6) Compare & contrast the causes . definition , assessment
finding , & outcomes between ALI (acute lung injury) &
acute respiratory distress syndrome.
7) Explain the management of patients with ARDs (acute
respiratory distress ) & rationale for the intervention.
