Rogers TV is an excellent opportunity for Co-op students to prepare for careers in media arts,
communications, journalism, television and video production. Rogers TV is committed to
quality and relevant local programming, winning awards in both Regional and National
Competitions. Co-op student candidates should have the following traits: be keen,
knowledgeable, and reliable, in order to participate with Rogers TV Dufferin-Peel.
Positions are available, as indicated, at both the Mississauga (3573 Wolfedale Road) and the Brampton
(8200 Dixie Road) locations of Rogers TV.
A) Producer’s Assistant: 3 positions in total-Mississauga only
One 4 credit placement
Two 2 credit placements – two p.m. placements
The student will be working closely with the producer of the “Access Peel” show, sports shows and
political shows. They will research topics, contact guests and event organizers, coordinate shoots,
transcribe interviews and linear editing (“tape to tape”). As needed, they will update the database
used for show bookings and complete special projects.The opportunity to learn reporting for the
“Access Peel” program may arise.
The student must have a positive attitude, excellent time management skills, be able to work
independently, have strong oral and written communication skills, take initiative, have good
interpersonal and listening skills and be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook email. They need to
be flexible and co-operative when changes in duties and responsibilities arise.








This role will not be involved in studio production
Students must be available Monday to Friday from approximately 9:00 – 5:00 pm (4 credit),
Monday to Friday from approx. 12pm to 5pm (2 credit).
Students must provide their own transportation to the studio
Students must submit their application package completed in full: including resume, cover
letter, start date, end date, hours per week and amount of credits to be completed. Incomplete
applications will not be accepted.
Rogers TV equipment is NOT available for personal use
Preference will be given to students with experience or familiarity in the positions outlined.
Rogers TV will only retain students who fit the culture, are eager to learn and show initiative.
Activities such as sports, school extra-curricular and part-time employment must not interfere
with co-op placement.

B) Studio Production Crew Member: 2 positions – 2 Credit p.m. or 4 creditMississauga and Brampton
Students will be participating on crew for the production of “Daytime” and other shows in the
capacity of Audio Operator, Camera Operator, VTR (Video Tape Recorder) Operator, CG (Character
Generator), and Floor Director. The only option for post-production experience may be linear editing
or dub requests but that will be decided based on production needs.
The student must be able to focus during production, have a positive attitude, excellent time
management skills, be able to work independently, have strong oral and written communication
skills, take initiative, and take directions well. They need to be flexible and co-operative when
changes in duties and responsibilities arise.










Students MUST be available Monday to Friday from 12:30 – 10:00 pm.
**We understand that Integration days are necessary, please schedule them on Fridays.
Students must provide their own transportation to the Mississauga studio located at 3573
Wolfedale Road, L5C 3T6.

C) Mobile and Studio Production Crew Member: 8 positions – 4 Credit only (4 at
Wolfedale Road location and 4 at Brampton location)-Mississauga and Brampton
Students will be participating on crew for the production of OHL games in the capacity of Audio
Operator, Camera Operator, VTR (Video Tape Recorder) Operator, Replay, and CG (Character
Generator). While on studio production, Students will be participating on crew for the production of
“Daytime” and other shows in the capacity of Audio Operator, Camera Operator, VTR (Video Tape
Recorder) Operator, CG (Character Generator), and Floor Director. The only option for postproduction experience may be linear editing or dub requests but that will be decided based on
production needs.

- Students must be available for OHL hockey home games for Brampton and Mississauga as per 20122013 home schedules (including PD days and Holiday weekends).
 Most games are Fridays from 2 pm – 11 pm and Sundays from 9 am – 6 pm with the occasional
weekday game. There will also be the occasional mobile such as other sporting event or
parades. Dates to be provided when events are scheduled (minimum 2 week notice).
 To supplement their hours required, students will be in the studio on any given day of the
week from Monday to Friday from 12:30 – 10:00
 Students must provide their own transportation to the Mississauga studio located at 3573
Wolfedale Road, L5C 3T6 and to all mobile events. (ex. The Powerade Centre, the Hershey
Centre and other locations)

flexible –Mississauga

well. They need to be flexible and co-operative when changes in duties and responsibilities arise
including transcribing and dub requests.
 Only 2 Credit students may apply
 Students must be available for ALL OHL hockey home games for Brampton and Mississauga
as per 2013-2014 home schedules (including PD days and Holiday weekends). Most games are
Fridays from 2 pm – 11 pm and Sundays from 9 am – 6 pm with the occasional weekday game.
