Weekly Trends: Compared to last week slaughter lambs very uneven,
steady to 5.00 lower at New Holland, PA and firm to 6.00 higher at San
Angelo, TX; slaughter ewes steady to 4.00 lower, except at New Holland 5.0010.00 higher; feeder lambs sharply higher. At San Angelo, TX 3463 head sold
this week. Equity Electronic Auction sold 310 slaughter lambs in North
Dakota and 90 slaughter ewes in Nebraska

Pelt activity this week compared to last week: Packer sorted green salted
pelts steady to firm. Demand remains very good, and an active market with the
majority of pelts being shipped overseas. Buyers continue to struggle to meet
needs of customers due to the short supply.

In Australia this week the Eastern Market Indicator was up 4 at 1195 cents per Kg clean
from last week. A total of 53,999 bales were offered with sales of 92.9 percent. The
Australian exchange rate was weaker by .0002 at .9967 percent of the US dollar. The sale
next week has a total offering of 45,557 bales.
Australian wool prices are quoted delivered Charleston, South Carolina. The current
freight rate is .15 cents per pound clean. Schlumberger Dry formula is used for yield
determination.
The 75-80 percent of Australia price range can be used as an estimated value of clean
prices FOB the warehouse and gross producer. These are estimated domestic values and may
vary depending on current market conditions, yield, strength, length, colored fiber
content, poly contamination, and other quality factors.
