If a teacher is entering the building before 7:45, I have instructed them to remind the students they have to wait until 7:45 as we do not have supervision in place until 7:45 if they try to come into the building early. This is a safety and supervision issue. When dropping off in the morning it is important to only use the Woodmill entrance. Within the upcoming weeks there will be cones on the Woodmill entrance guiding cars to stay in one line for drop off. It is unsafe for cars to try to pass or park on the drop off lane. If you would like to park, please stay in the line and pull into the parking lot when it is your turn and escort your child to the door. Please DO NOT have your children cross through traffic by themselves. Cognitive Abilities Test This week our 4th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Please make sure your children are on time to school and are well rested. 4-Day Weekend for Students There is no school for students on Friday, October 17 and Monday, October 20. Gifted Referral Period If you are submitting the Gifted Referral packet for the fall testing period, completed packets are due at the Bassett office by Thursday, October 16. The information letter is here and the packet is here. Purchase Varsity Football Tickets at Bassett The Westlake High School varsity football team has a home game this Friday at 7:00 pm vs. Berea-Midpark. Student tickets will be available for purchase in the Bassett office on Friday for $4 each. Click here for the game schedule. Please be sure to read the information below about student behavior expectations. Westlake Home Football Games Student Behavior Expectations Students attending Friday night football games at WHS are reminded that this is a school activity and all school rules are in effect. The high school athletic department asks that all students attending the games sit in the home side stands to watch the game and support your fellow students. Students below grade 5 need to have parental attendance at the games as well; this is not a drop-off event for elementary students as there is no supervision provided. Students are not to stand in groups near booths, gate and restroom entrances, and in the front aisle of the bleachers. This is a safety concern. Any student displaying improper behavior will be asked to leave the game.
