The team was favorably impressed by the welcoming, collaborative learning environment of Bassett, including parents, students and staff. The visiting team will send a report within a couple of weeks to the IBA. We will hear official word as to whether we will become an authorized IB World School from the IBA within 3 months. IB Newsletter: The new issue of our IB Newsletter is available here. This issue includes information on how we are encouraging students to develop IB attitudes toward learning, people, and the environment. You will also find information about Totally Awesome Tuesdays. The Totally Awesome Tuesday coming up on December 2 will recognize students for exceptional effort in being communicators and showing appreciation. Parent-Teacher Conferences Parent-teacher conferences are Thursday, November 20 in the evening, Monday, November 24 in the evening, and Tuesday, November 25 during the day. When you come for your conference, you are also encouraged to stop by and see your child's special area teachers (Art, Music, PE, French, Library) as well. Special area conferences do not need to be at a scheduled time. Runs November 17-25 Bassett's annual Scholastic Book Fair runs Monday, November 17 through Tuesday, November 25. The book fair brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. This week on Monday or Wednesday, students will come to the book fair with their class to make "wish lists" with titles and prices. They will bring the "wish lists" home so you can discuss their choices, and if you like, help them select their purchases. Parents are welcome to come to the book fair during any of the hours shown below to purchase items from your child's "wish list" and browse the book fair. With an adult present, the book fair accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.
