SUMMER POLICYMAKER ENGAGEMENT INTERNSHIP AVAILABLE AT AFP The Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) is seeking creative and entrepreneurial students or recent graduate to join its Policymaker Engagement (PME) team. The world is changing and so is the art and science of peacebuilding. As the U.S. member network of peacebuilding NGOs, universities, and practitioners working around the globe, AfP works with its members and partners to lead innovations at the frontiers of the field that respond to the shifting demands of today’s deepest conflicts. AfP’s Policymaker Engagement program takes the latest solutions and local knowledge from settings of violent conflict and provides them to U.S. and other policymakers in the form of effective strategies for ever-changing policy challenges. Doing so requires the PME team to coordinate closely with overseas partners and with Washington-based coalitions, recognize and seize creative opportunities to impact the policy process, and communicate the value of peacebuilding approaches to policy and public audiences in clear terms and compelling media. AfP is looking for exceptional “doers” to join our PME team who desire rich learning and direct experience—not just by observing, but by leading and building something new. Is this you? We want to hear from you! Summary: The PME Program Assistant position is a part-time (15 – 20 hrs/week) unpaid internship based in Washington, DC, and will accommodate a flexible schedule. Summer internships begin in early June and end in late August. Applicants who may also be available to continue through the Fall semester are encouraged to apply. Interns will receive mentoring from senior AfP staff, working daily with the Senior Program Manager for Policy.
