 Online Registration Instructions New Students The steps below are the step-­‐by-­‐step instructions for new student. If you are a returning student, please download the returning student instruction. If you have any question or problem, you can contact us at: Language and Culture Center 116 Roy Cullen Building Phone: 713-­‐743-­‐3030 e-­‐mail: lcc@uh.edu As a new student, there are 2 requirements that you need to meet in order to register:
1) You need to have applied for the registration term.
2) You will need your UH ID, DOB, Gender, and Country of Birth information
for verification to log in.
If you met the above requirements, you can continue registration.
1) Go to the Language and Culture website, http://lcc.uh.edu.
2) LCC website: look for the Registration link in the Quick Links or News & Events
sections. You should see the webpage like below.
3) Login Information: you would see a webpage like the picture above. The 4 pieces of
information that are most important to you are annotated in the picture:
a) The registration period.
b) Information required for authentication.
c) The registration instruction (this document).
d) The registration login link.
When you are ready to do the registration, click “New students: Start the registration process =>” to start the registration process.
4) Welcome Screen: you will see a welcome screen like below that will remind you of
what you need to identify yourself and start the registration process. Select “Next>>” will
send you to the login page. During registration, you can select “Next>>” or “<<Previous”
to navigate back and forth during registration.
5) New student login: enter your information and select “Next>>” to log in. There are 2 cases that might prevent you from registering. a) You did not applied for the registration term. b) You did not provide the correct information. If you believe that you provided the correct information, but can not verify your identity, please contact our main office with the contact information at the top of this instruction. 6) Registration agreement: make sure you read all the terms and conditions before you check “I agreed to the above terms and conditions”. Without agreeing to the terms and condition, you will not be able to continue registration. 7) Information verification: you need to verify your information to make sure all of the information is correct. Update your address and immigration information only if it is not correct. 8) Field trip: during the term, our program arranged student field trips to enable students to participate in various student activities. We will need you to indicate whether you will go on the first field trip. We only ask the question below for all terms except Summer II as Summer II does not have a field trip at the beginning of the term. 9) Liability Release form: if you are going on the field trip, you will be taken to the Liability Release form to sign it. 10) Medical insurance: all LCC students are required to have a minimum medical insurance coverage of $100,000.00, except for U.S. citizen or U.S. Resident. You can buy LCC contracted medical insurance. Here is the list of medical insurance condition for different category of students: a) Regular students (not sponsored) – buy LCC medical insurance. b) U.S. Citizen or U.S. Resident – are not required to have medical insurance, but can buy LCC medical insurance. c) Sponsor with own medical and non-­‐expired Financial Guarantee letter – does not need to take our medical. d) Sponsor student with expired Financial Guarantee letter – are required to take our medical. We will waive the medical insurance with updated Financial Guaranteed during the first week of class. e) Sponsor with no medical – required to take our medical unless student bring in the sponsor insurance during the first week of class. Depend on your category, you will be send to a different page to make your medical insurance decision. 11) Test Schedule: you will be sent to this page to print out your test schedule. Make sure you print it and take it to your test location indicated on the test schedule. 12) Program Schedule: this is the program schedule of the first few days of the term. You can print this out and keep a copy so you know the activities for the next few days. For sponsor student with valid Financial Guarantee, you will be send to the withdrawal warning page (number 18) of the registration as the steps after this do not apply to you. 13) Method of Payment: for students that are paying by themselves or students with expired Financial Guarantee letter, you will need to agree to the method of payment below. Make sure to read and understand before continuing. This is a sample for Spring, Summer and Fall terms. For Summer II, there will be a similar webpage with different tuition and fee amount. 14) How to Pay: this will show where you can by and by what method, you can print this out if you do not know where and how to pay already. 15) Account Statement: this is your invoice. It shows you how much you need to pay for the current term. Print it out so you know much you need to pay. 16) Withdrawal Warning: you are nearing the completion of your registration. This is to remind you that, if you ever decided to withdraw from the Language and Culture Center, you need to come in person to the Language and Culture main office to withdraw. 17) Check-­‐In Day reminder: as a new student, you need to report to the Language and Culture Center on the Check-­‐In Day so we can verify your information and make a copy of your documents for our record. 18) Registration Completed. Make sure you pay your tuition and fee by the indicated date.
