May we all help to make our homes a place of relaxation, joy, love, peace and safety. May we be generous and considerate, not thinking only but helping others enjoy the blessings of summertime. Keep each of us in your care during the coming summer and throughout our lives. Guide our steps and strengthen our hearts until we meet once again. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. June VIRTUE - Fairness/ Telling An Adult About Bullying is Not Tattling This month we will celebrate the Virtue of Fairness. We are made by God to live together, to share and to help each other. You can’t be a Christian alone. Christianity is all about living together in community – ideally, one big happy family. Fairness, the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to succeed, is not always about making things exactly equal. Some people need a bit more time, space, money, and support to have an equal chance to succeed. And they deserve that chance. We would appreciate your support in discussing this virtue with your child and encouraging behaviours that would demonstrate this virtue. Principal’s Message As the school year draws to a close, I sincerely thank everyone for their spirit of cooperation and support. Many thanks to my staff, whose dedication and commitment have provided daily opportunities for students to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you to Mrs.Iannicca for running a very efficient office! Thank you to Mr. Oppong, Mr. DiMarco and Mr. Medvid for keeping our school clean and safe! Thanks to Father Tim, Father Francis and the entire Paris Team who continue to add to the spiritual life of St. Clare Catholic School through school Masses and Sacramental preparation. I would also like to thank our Superintendent, Mr. Amaral for his ongoing support throughout the year. Thank you to our Trustee, Mrs. Hobin, for her support and sharing our successes, with the students, staff and parents. Many thanks to our Catholic School Council for their time and commitment by providing our students with a variety of special activities throughout the school year! Thank you to our parent volunteers and all parents for the gift of their time in giving to our students and school community! It is only with the support of everyone that we can successfully carry out the goals of Catholic education. A school is only as strong as the support it receives from its’ community, and for this we are truly blessed. On behalf of all the staff, we wish you all a wonderful summer! Sincerely, M. Diab P.A. Striving for Excellence Year at a Glance…Extra Curricular St. Clare Green Team - Shepherds of a Greener Earth This was a truly remarkable school year here at St. Clare in regards to our environmental initiatives. We beautified the school grounds by weeding and planting bulbs in the front garden. We celebrated two weeks of Earth Day, Earth Hour and National Sweater Day. We participated in recycling and reusing programs in unity with the board. When possible, electronic resources were used to support student learning as an alternative to paper. Every student on the Eco-Team demonstrated leadership qualities and compassion for the Earth through energy audits, announcements, posters and even some classroom presentations. Although the school year may be coming to a close, it is important to remember our good habits throughout our lives. We can save energy and resources no matter the season. Mrs. Grattan, Mrs. Zanatta and Mr. Murphy wish to thank our Eco-Team, all of our students and the entire school community for all of their support throughout our efforts.
