1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 SAN BERNARDINO COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT BOARD POLICY ADVISORY VOTING STUDENT MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES In compliance with Education Code Section 72023.5, the Board of Trustees of the San Bernardino Community College District may include two advisory voting student members who are enrolled in and maintain at least five (5) semester units in the District. The student members of the Board shall be entitled to all privileges and rights provided elected members of the Board, including receiving of materials and participating in the questioning of witnesses and the discussion of issues, with the following exceptions: 1. The student member shall not have the right or be afforded the opportunity to either attend closed sessions of the Governing Board or receive materials related thereto. 2. The student member may be entitled to compensation of $100 per month as prescribed by Education Code Section 72425. In the event a student Board member has an unexcused absence to a required meeting, the compensation shall be pro rated for the pay period. 3. The student member shall not be entitled to vote on matters being considered by the Board of Trustees except in an advisory capacity that will not be tallied into the official vote. The term of the student member shall be one year, commencing on, May 15 each fiscal year. The student will be seated at the next regular Board meeting following the beginning of their oneyear term of office.
