January 29, 2014 Dear Colleague, This message is about you. I may not know you personally; we may have only passed each other on campus, but we share much in common. Here, our work matters because we help students succeed, we help research evolve and we help our communities thrive. I believe in the University of Houston, and I know you also have a special reason why you are so passionate about UH. For me, as an alumnus and president of the UH Staff Council, it’s having a voice in shaping the University’s future, especially regarding professional development and scholarships for staff. We want to retain great staff, help them and their families grow and foster an exceptional workplace where the institution’s vision aligns with employees’ goals. Please join me in making a donation to the University of Houston during the 2013-14 UH Gives Back Faculty and Staff Campaign. I donate to UH because Pam Muscarello I know my support, much like my work, helps change the lives of our students, faculty and staff. Think of our community, your coworkers, our groundbreaking programs and the resources that are essential to your work here. For example, there are three staff-eligible scholarships available at UH: the Rodger Peters Staff Scholarship, the Students of Staff Scholarship and the Professional Development Award. These are awarded to staff members or their families who demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and a potential to succeed. Because of programs like these, I know my gift every year makes a difference every day. I make my contribution via payroll deduction through P.A.S.S. because it’s convenient, and at the end of the year I see just how much of an impact my support has made. If you choose to make a one-time or recurring gift using a check or credit card, a gift form and return envelope are enclosed. You also can give online at uh.edu/uhgivesback. Your generous donation shows your Cougar pride and builds confidence in UH for all of us. Warmest regards and a prosperous New Year, Pam Muscarello President, Staff Council Delegate, USSEC Business Administrator, Department of Mathematics Annual Donor since 2003
