O God, Whose mighty Son was born in Bethlehem

lead us to the same poor place,
where Mary laid her tiny Child.
And as we look on in wonder and praise,
make us welcome Him in all new life,
see Him in the poor,
and care for His handiwork, the earth, the sky and the sea.
O God, bless us again in Your great love.

We would like to extend our sincerest
thanks to the St. Gertrude School Community for your generous contributions to
our Christmas Outreach programs. With
your help, we were able to make financial
contributions to the St. Vincent de Paul
Society while also collecting many needed
toiletries, hats, mittens and toys. We were
also able to make donations to the Make a
Wish Charity and Breakfast with Santa.

PUPIL ACCOMMODATION REVIEW
As you know, St. Gertrude is one of eight schools in the East Credit Service area being reviewed for possible closure in June
2017. St. Gertrude School will have one community representative from the French Immersion Program and one Council representative from the Regular/English program to attend working meetings on behalf of the community.



SCHOOL COUNCIL UPDATE
Parents/Guardians,
As many of you may or may not be aware, there is a proposal by the board to close our school. We, the parent
council, along with you, would like to prevent this from happening.

email will enable us to keep you up to date with updates as we receive them, information to promote awareness to
the community, as well as inform you of when volunteers are needed.

close schools, due to inclement weather, is usually made by 6:30a.m. Only the Director of Education has the authority to cancel transportation
and/or close schools.
