Matthew 5:16 December 10, 2012 Dear Parents, I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and to share with you some of the things we are doing at the school to prepare for Christmas. This week we are having an Advent celebration with our students on Tuesday December 11 that will focus on getting ready for Christmas. It will be led by our Youth Faith Ambassador team. Our Angel tree is up. On it there are Christmas ornaments with tags on them that state a child’s gender and age (ie girl 2). These are gifts that we are donating to the St. Vincent de Paul Society to help create Christmas baskets for families in our parish community in need. The children we are collecting for are Boy age 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8 and girl age 1, 2, 7 and 9. If you would like to contribute to this, please send a toy with a tag on it that states the age and gender that the toy is for. We will also have a box at out Advent Mass to drop off if you do not get a chance at school. We need to give these items to the Church by lunch time on Dec 14. We are only collecting new items at this time. Our Intermediate students are also collecting food items until Dec 20. Those boxes are in our main foyer. On Thursday December 13 at 7p.m. we would like to invite our families to come to a family Advent Mass. It will be held at St. Martin of Tours Parish. This is a Mass, not a concert as we would like to bring in the Christmas Season in a prayerful way. On December 20 at 10:45 we will have our Christmas Concert. Our classes will be presenting the symbols and songs of the Jesse Tree as we prepare for Christmas. December 21 is our last day of school before our Christmas Break. It is a regular day. Students will return to school January 7, 2013. I hope all of our families have a Blessed Christmas and break and are ready and rested for School in January. Merry Christmas, S.
