This is the last newsletter for the year.
For those children returning next year expect a welcome letter during the beginning of August.
The first day of preschool next year is August 29th. Hilliard Elementary’s Open House is the
evening of August 18th.
The Ice Cream Social is on Thursday, June 2nd. There will be no school transportation. All
students must be accompanied by a family member. It will be held at Clague Cabin from 1011:30 for the morning class and 12:30-2 for the afternoon class.
Reminder: Library is on Wednesdays.

Jane Yolen. Recognize sight words and use thinking vocabulary while retelling story.

Circle Time: calendar/weather/review jobs, discuss our day, choose a song from song
chart, review class rules, & choose a play area. Graphing Activity
Large Group/Language Activity: Read Maisy Goes Camping By Lucy Cousins. Play Who
stole the sandwich.
Small Group Activity: counting 1 to 1
Wednesday: Circle Time: calendar/weather/review jobs, discuss our day, choose a song from song
chart, review class rules, & choose a play area.
Large Group/Language Activity: Rise Activity: Read How do Dinosaurs Go to School? by
Jane Yolen. We will produce words that begin with a specific letter sound. We will write a
class story Buster Helps Out.

a map of our school we will go on a bird hunt.

Large Group/Language Activity: Read Lucille Camps In by Kathryn Lasky. Match cup &
plate; color match/identifying color words. This will also practice our 1 to 1 counting skills.

Dean. Look for pictures and a class book for your child to keep.

Large Group/Language Activity: Read Is Your Mama a Llama? By Debroah Guarino.
These llama books are fun and available at Porter library. Look for extra clothes and
name/address cards to come home.
