In December the liturgical
season of Advent is here,
the time in our faith that
tells us all to prepare for
the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. During the
four weeks of Advent we
prepare our hearts and
our lives so that we may
be able to fully celebrate
Christmas. The Advent
wreaths are a point of
gathering in our school
and a candle is lit before
our
morning
school
prayers.
On Friday December 14
we will be gathered as a
school community to
celebrate the Eucharist at
our school Advent mass.
The choir will sing and
the students hear the
words that “Christ is to be
born!” Please join us if
you are able.
Tradition continues with
our Santa Shop. Many
long hours of preparation
have been made for this
event. Huge thanks goes
to Kim Molella and all the
parent volunteers. For
just a few dollars students will know the opportunity of giving something that they have
picked out for a loved
family member at Christmas. Santa Shop schedule will be sent out
shortly.
We are indeed a very
special school community
comprised of supportive
parents and families. This
together with our dedicated students and a
devoted staff give us
much to be grateful for.
But we know that among
this community there are
some of us who are not
as blessed as others but
we are all part of God‟s
family and this school
community. I am aware
of the names of families
with children in our own
school community that
will benefit from our
blessings and generosity
of our food and toy drive.
Due to your generosities I
know that they will have a
brighter Christmas.
Our upcoming Christmas
concerts will like an extra
present under the tree for
all who were able to join
us. A special info flyer will
also be sent home
shortly.
Finally,
may
I
wish the
joy
and
peace of
Advent
and Christmas be with
you and your family today
and all through the year.

Winter Dress/Recess/Indoor Shoes
Indoor Shoes
Please note that except when the winter weather is extremely cold or wet,
students will be expected to go outside during recess and lunch breaks.
Exceptions will be considered only
with a doctor’s note. Most children
who are too ill to go outside should
be resting at home and not exposing
others to germs. Students should
come dressed appropriately to go
outdoors, which includes hats, boots,
scarves and gloves. As rainy and
winter weather approaches, we remind everyone to bring an extra pair
of running shoes to be kept at school
for classroom and gym use.
It is also helpful that our younger
students carry a spare pair of underwear, socks and track pants in case
they get wet outside or have an
“accident”. This will save us from
having to contact you at work.
Virtue for the Month—Conscience
God has given us the ability to
know the right and decent way to
act and then to act that way. We
trust that the common Spirit we
share inspires us and guides us
to make good decisions if we allow our conscience to be wellformed.
A person of Conscience allows
prayer and scripture to influence
him/her.
A person of conscience………

Chooses to do the “right
thing” and feels good about it

Can see how his/her actions
may hurt others

Admits his/her wrong-doings
and fells badly

Says „sorry‟ and tries to make
up for mistakes

Keeps promises
The human voice can never reach
the distance that is covered by the
still small voice of conscience.

Scent Sensitivity
Just a reminder that
some of our staff and
students have sensitivities to scents. Strong
perfumes and colognes
such as Axe can cause
some students to suffer
allergic reaction such
as asthma and hives.
Although it has been
mentioned to students
to be sensitive to these
Less is more when it
comes to cologne
issues and there are
posters in the school
to this effect, many of
our older students
continue to spray
copious amounts of
deodorant/cologne
after gym class. More
than one parent has
complained that their
child has had difficulty breathing due to
a "heavy-hand"
with the cologne. If at all possible,
please ask students not to use
aerosol spray deodorant or cologne
after gym class - a stick that
