Abstract ID: 17098 Title: How the Media Influences the Regulatory and Legislative Environments Regulatory Response to Media Influence, Chipping Away at the Issues, “CRCPD Initiatives to Make the World a Safer Place” CRCPD is committed to finding methodologies to that support the beneficial uses of radiation while protecting the public from unnecessary exposure. This committed has defined itself in many ways that may have impact on the activities of medical physicists. The presented will discuss the current status of several initiatives geared towards prevention of radiation errors, the security of radioactive materials from malicious intent and preparedness through the training and mobilization of medical physicists to support response from a radiation incident.
