About Solapur
Call for Papers
Solapur is a city in South Western Maharashtra situated near the borders with Karnataka and
Andhra Pradesh. It is well connected by air, railway and road to New Delhi (1533 Km), Mumbai
(406 km), Pune (243 Km), Bangalore (589 Km), Hyderabad (305 Km) and Chennai (924 km). It is an
ancient historical and religious place with Shri Siddharameshwar as its ‘Gramadaiwata’. It is very
famous for Textile Industries, Solapur Chaddars and towels are famous around the globe. It has
been a leading center for cotton mills and power looms, though recent times have seen these
industries relocate elsewhere. Solapur has had a distinct multi-ethnic, multi-lingual community for
a long time. People use languages like Telugu, Kannada, Wadari, Gujarati, Sindhi, Hindi and Dakni
in addition to the main language of Marathi. Solapur is surrounded by the spiritual and historical
places, namely, Pandharpur (60 Km), Akalkot (40 Km), Tuljapur (40 Km), Ganagapur (70 Km), and
Kolhapur (247 Km).
Researchers and practicing statisticians are invited to contribute their papers and send the
abstracts to ncnhs2013@gmail.com before the scheduled date. The abstract should clearly
mention the research problem, methodology, findings, limitations, and scope.
About Solapur University, School of Computational Sciences, and Department of
Statistics
Abstracts will be peer reviewed and selection of the papers will be strictly based on the
recommendation of the review committee. Please prepare the abstract in MS WORD as per the
following format.

Solapur University was established in year 2004. This younger university of Maharashtra has
made substantial progress in academics and research within a short span of nine years. It has
seven schools offering postgraduate courses in 21 disciplines leading to MA, MSc, MCA, MBA,
MEd, MPhil, and PhD degrees with a total strength of about 900 on campus students. The
university is vibrant for the research in frontier areas of Physical, Chemical, Mathematical,
Computer, Earth, and Social Sciences. The University has 124 affiliated colleges with the total
student strength of about 90,000.
Important Dates
Department of Mathematics, Department of Statistics, Department of Computer Applications,
and Department of Computer Science together constitute School of computational Sciences with
wide scope for interaction aiming at excellence in fundamental and interdisciplinary research and
applications.
The goal of the conference is to popularize some new horizons of Statistics and in that way to
bridge the gap between the theory and practice of Statistics. It will provide a forum for technical
interactions between academic researchers and practicing statisticians.
The scope of the conference is not limited to some particular areas of Statistics. Interesting,
topical, and revelatory applications of Statistics in, for example, Medicine and Health, Industry,
Economics and Finance, Education and Teaching, Physical and Biomedical Sciences, Environment,
Demography, Psychology, Sociology, and Sport, etc will be considered for presentation and
discussion. There will be keynote address, invited talks, and contributory papers.

drawn in favor of ‘Finance and Accounts Officer, Solapur University, Solapur’ payable at Solapur
towards the registration fee. The registration fee may also be directly remitted or transferred online

Department of Statistics was established in year 2007. The Department offers MSc and PhD
degrees in Statistics. The current research interest of faculty is in Nonparametric Statistics,
Statistical Quality Control, and Categorical Data Analysis.
