Minutes
September 16, 2011
Members present included Robert Reber, Michelle Trawick, Rick Shannon, Patricia Todd, Evelyn
Thrasher, Johnny Chan, Rick Aldridge, Pat Jordan, Shane Spiller, Krist Schell, Mark Revels, and Jeff
Katz, presiding.
Dr. Katz opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. The bylaws and operating procedures were
reviewed.
Membership categories for the SPC was changed to the following:
Dean, Chair of SPC
Associate Dean, Vice Chair
Director of Development
Director of Technology
Faculty Members
Staff Members
Student Services Representatives
Undergraduate Students, elected from the Dean’s Student Advisory Council
Graduate Students
The sentence regarding SPC member terms was deleted.
Dr. Katz will put a call out to faculty for suggestions or ideas for change that need to be addressed by the
SPC. The bylaws will be updated for approval at the next meeting.
Dr. Katz opened discussion regarding the SWOT Analysis. Dr. Patricia Todd agreed to review the
document and make corrections to the categories.
The next meeting will take place Friday, October 14 at 2 p.m. At that meeting the update bylaws will be
approved and the update SWOT will be reviewed. Action teams will be decided and strategic objectives
will be validated.
The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
