 Foundations of Health Psychology*
 The goal of this class is to introduce graduate students to the field of health psychology
and major themes in the study of Health Psychology. A variety of theoretical
perspectives are emphasized, including biological, social, clinical, cognitive, and
developmental perspectives.
 Research in Health Psychology*
 The goal of this class is to introduce graduate students to advanced topics in health
psychology. The class provides students with a broad overview of the complex field of
selected topics in Health Psychology while at the same time, offering in depth coverage
of topics in emotion regulation, pain, cancer, intervention, and culture.
 Expressive Writing as an Intervention*
 Students learn about the expressive writing paradigm and its impact on health. Students
work on manuscripts toward publication or proposal.
 Advanced Research in Health Psychology: Biopsychosocial Model of Health and Illness*
 The goal of this class is to introduce students to cutting-edge research in the field of
Health Psychology by focusing on the biopsychosocial model of health and illness.
Students work on manuscripts toward publication or grant proposal submission.
 Foundations of Social Psychology* (team teaching)
 Students learn more about classic and contemporary research and theory in social
psychology through assigned readings and class discussion.
 Research in Health Psychology (Quality Education Program)
 The goal of this class is to introduce undergraduate students to learn to conduct feasible
and rigorous studies in health psychology. Students learn about hypothesis formation,
study design, data collection, data analysis and interpretation. Through engaging in
research themselves, students will develop skills necessary for success in a graduate or
advanced professional program.
