November 2015
We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.

Walk in the Dark
Each year in October, Facilities Services participates in Walk in the Dark.
This year was no exception. We want to THANK those team members
that partnered with the Student Government Association and the Police
Department and continued the tradition of walking through campus to note
unsafe areas which helps keep our community safe. These identified areas
will have adjustments made to make them safer. CW 39 News was there to
capture this event.

REPURPOSE PROGRAM
THANK YOU to everyone who has helped with the
Repurpose Program with special thanks to Facilities
Manager, Craig Whitfield.
We are proud that Facilities Services was honored on
October 26th, 2015 with an award from the City of
Houston and Mayor Anise Parker.
SUSTAINABILITY FEST
Facilities Services was a platinum sponsor for the Sustainability Fest on Tuesday,
November 17th. Although weather prevented the original location to be used, Rockwell
Pavilion, MDA Library was still a busy spot.
Over 150 recycled tire jar openers were
distributed with the 4 Ways to FIX-IT and over
150 pens made from recycled cardboard to help
spread the word that Facilities Services bales
tons of cardboard each month. Our Repurpose
Program led by Craig Whitfield was highlighted
along with our Green Cleaning products used
by our Custodial Staff. THANKS to all our staff
who participated and helped show the campus
our Sustainable efforts.
