FAQS for MPI CEO Announcement 1. A. Will Bruce continue to be involved with MPI in any capacity? Bruce has made many contributions to MPI over the years, and we would be thrilled if he continued his engagement in our member and volunteer communities. 2. A. So what are Bruce’s plans, is he taking a new job or retiring? Bruce has not indicated his future plans to us. We just know that he has elected not to renew his contract, and we want to respect his privacy around this personal decision. 3. A. Who will serve as interim leader until a new CEO is named? MPI COO Cindy D’Aoust will lead MPI’s Dallas-based headquarters as interim chief staff executive. In her current role, she has been leading the operational deployment of the organization’s strategic business plan. She is integrally involved in all aspects of the organization’s operations and will continue to work closely with the MPI team to deliver on the implementation of MPI’s education and certification program and other key initiatives. 4. Cindy is relatively new to the organization, why was she chosen to be the interim leader? Cindy has been working closely with Bruce since joining the organization a couple of months ago. Through her charge to lead the operational deployment of MPI’s strategic business plan, she has been immersed in all aspects of the organization’s operations. Given this, and her 20 years of organizational management experience and familiarity with MPI as a long-time member and volunteer, we expect her transition into the interim leader role to be relatively quick and seamless. A. 5. A. How will Bruce’s departure affect (any key initiatives/programs/events coming up)? MPI has a wonderful staff and a strong interim leader in place. We don’t expect there to be any noticeable impact on the service, programs or events we are delivering to our members and partners. 6. A. Who will serve on the search committee? Chairman elect Kevin Hinton will serve as the search committee chair. All other members will remain confidential. Keeping the members of the search committee confidential is a standard business practice designed to protect the integrity of the search process. We can tell you that the members will be representative of the MPI membership, including a diverse group of professionals. Once a CEO has been selected, we will make a complete list of the search committee available. 7. A. What are the next steps/key milestones in the search process? Appointment of the search committee over the next week and confirmation of the search firm. We’ll work to expedite the search as much as possible, but we will not sacrifice quality for speed.
