THE ENTRADA SCHOLARS PROGRAM
is designed to introduce high school juniors and seniors to the college experience. It is intended for ethnic and racial
minority groups typically under-represented in higher education, including African American, Native American, Asian
American, Hispanic or Latino American students. This application is for students who are enrolled in the 11th grade,
have a cumulative academic grade point average of 2.7 and have followed a college preparatory course of study.
Entrada is a selective experience. Submitting an application does not guarantee admittance to the program.
TO BE COMPLETED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN: Please use dark ink to complete form.
Entrada is a unique experience, providing high school students the opportunity to both take a college course for credit
and to live on campus while taking the course. In order to make Entrada the best experience possible for students we
have created some very necessary guidelines which, ultimately, are for the benefit of both the student and parents.
These include:
1. NO VISITORS—Families and friends of potential applicants need to understand that students may not
receive outside visitors during the program (except for the family orientation and graduation).
2. NO OUTSIDE OF ENTRADA ACTIVITIES—Families and friends of potential applicants must be clear on this point: no
outside activities, including weddings, family reunions, etc., can be attended if a student chooses to attend Entrada.
By signing this agreement, I

agree to adhere to the expectations listed above.
Signature of Parent or Guardian Date
Student applications received without a signed Parent/Guardian
Partner Agreement will not be considered for program admission.
CALVIN COLLEGE is a Christian college with a reformed accent. This means that we believe God is sovereign
over everything and that our world belongs to Him. So, we courageously engage in all areas of academic study under
the lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of scripture, eater to know God more and serve him better.
Calvin’s mission is to shape hearts and minds for Christian living and learning, equipping students to follow and further
the ways of God on earth.
Calvin College strives to be a community that is graced by these characteristics:
• Learning that is imaginative, thought-provoking and guided by the Holy Spirit;
• Living together that is marked by the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22–23);
• Academic integrity that is central to honest scholarly work; and
• Personal integrity that reflects a faith-infused life of discipleship.
Calvin College seeks to enroll students who will succeed in and contribute to this Christian learning environment.
