there was a course that students could sign up for credit for this work. At WKU there was not such
a course; however, eight separate students have performed this work without receiving academic
credit (simply to have the experience).

Reviewer, Textbook. MacMillan Publisher. 2014.
MacMillan Publishers contacted me and asked if I would review a chapter in
Shuster’s “Biology for a Changing World, 3e”. This entailed reading through the
table of contents, picking one of several chapters, reading one of the chapters,
answering multiple questions on both the table of contents and the chapter read.
Reviewer, Journal Article. Aquatic Mammals. 2015.
Dr. Kathleen M. Dudzinski (managing editor) asked me to review an article
submission for the journal "Aquatic Mammals". This is the oldest peer-reviewed
journal in the marine mammal field.

Pearson Publishers contacted me and asked me to review Cowan/Bunn's
“Microbiology Fundamentals or Cowan's Microbiology: A Systems Approach 3e”.
This entailed filling out an extensive survey to detail my opinions on various
aspects of the book, especially as it compared to my current text.
Reviewer, Lab Exercise in Non-Majors Biology Lab Manual, Whiley-Freeman
Publishing, 2014.
A representative from Whiley-Freeman Publishing contacted me regarding
performing a review of one of their new virtual lab experiments for their nonmajors lab manual. All of the information was provided to me along with an
extensive review form to fill out and return to them.

from the program chair to me. My job was to review and edit the abstracts for
content and format. When I was finished I returned them to the program chair for
submission in the conference proceedings. During the conference I was in charge
of the session: introducing the talks and keeping the sessions running on time.
