Catholic Education week this year takes place from May 1st – May 6th, 2016. During this week, all Catholic School
Boards in Ontario will celebrate the significant contribution that Catholic Education has made to the community, the province and to
Canada. Our Catholic Graduate Expectations challenge students to articulate in society those fundamental values that underpin Catholic
education.
The theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week is: Catholic Education: Opening Doors of Mercy.
There are five sub-themes, one for each day of Catholic Education Week and they are aimed at helping staff and students reflect more
fully on what Opening Doors of Mercy asks of them. The five sub-themes are:

Catholic Education Week is marked by special activities at all grade levels, including prayer celebrations and service activities.
Throughout Catholic Education Week, we ask you to reflect on the significance of Catholic Education’s presence and contribution in our
Church and in our society. We invite all members of our community, especially our parents/guardians, to participate in the celebrations
and activities that will mark the celebration of Catholic Education Week 2016 at our school.
