Steps of a Criminal Trial In groups of two, use the internet to research how a criminal case moves through the court system. You may receive results from a variety of states. Most states are fairly close in terms of the basic steps of a trial, however, in researching this process be sure to cite which state you have received your information from. Your information should included, at a minimum the following aspects and steps in the trail: Admissible Appeals Appearances Arraignment Arrest Beyond a Reasonable Doubt Civil Lawsuit Closing Arguments Cross-examination Defendant Defense Attorney Deliberation Direct Examination Discovery Evidence Hearings Opening Arguments Physical Evidence Plaintiff Prosecuting Attorney Recross Examination Redirect Examination Rests its Case Sentencing Testimony Trial Verdict Explain the correct order from beginning to end of a trial, using the following terms, bolding or highlighting them each time they are used. For each step in the trial, be sure to fully explain with examples and details. Use Google Docs to type your information, save and share on goggle drive. When finished complete the same steps for the order of a Civil Trial. Just include the order you do not need to include additional terms. Grading – 15 point possible (10 pts criminal, 5 pts civil)
