Methodology
This report includes Calvin College graduates from December 2010 through August 2011.
The statistics in this report are based on survey information received through multiple
sources. Students were offered an incentive gift card of $15 to the campus store for the
following reporting methods.



February 2011: Senior graduation planning event survey
Spring 2011 – Fall 2011: online report form
May 2011: Alumni survey as students picked up their graduation gown
Department chairs and faculty were asked to assist in gathering information related to
graduates who had not reported their activity. In September through February 2012, the
Career Development Office followed up with graduates using Calvin’s alumni on-line
network, LinkedIn, Facebook and e-mail.
Internship information was obtained from the graduate surveys and Career Development’s college
wide internship database.
Highlights

84.8% reported their post-graduate activity

79.7% reported having at least one internship/practicum while at Calvin

67.7% are professionally employed while 22.7% are in graduate school

7.5% are employed but seeking better employment and 2.1% are not employed

51% reported residing in Michigan

88.1% reported residing in the United States

Career Development Mission:
To assist Calvin students and graduates in their vocational planning. Although not a
placement service, this office helps students to make the transition from the academy to
the workplace by providing timely and accurate information, professional guidance, and
confidential services. In partnership with students, graduates, and employers, we offer our
hearts and lives to do God's work in God's world.
