With the rush of the holidays, we decided to send information and order forms for our “Spirit wear” home in the New Year. We will also be having a “Spirit wear” showcase where some of our students will model our great new clothing! Parish Thoughts… Poster Contest Sacraments Demand Community All young people ages 8 through 14 are invited to participate in the 2007 Knights of Columbus Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest. Students are encouraged to develop an original poster and slogan idea designed to discourage their peers from experimenting with drugs and alcohol. There will be divisions for youngsters ages 8 to 11 and ages 12 to14 years. The Church is never so much the Church as when it is gathered together for the liturgy. Gathering for the liturgy is our public action, the way we carry on Jesus' work of redemption in plain sight. The community of the Church makes Jesus visible. What must be stressed is the presence of the community for the celebration of all the sacraments. Just as no one can live completely alone, no one can believe in total isolation. Weekly celebration of the Eucharist is a commitment we made in acceptance of the sacraments and our choice to give our children a Catholic Education. Let’s give our children the spiritual nourishment they need now so that their lives can always revolve around the presence of Jesus!
