Web Advisory Team Meeting Minutes Genesee Room – Prahl College Center 2:00- 3:30pm February 24, 2010 Attendees: K. Martin, D. McClure, M. Bourcier, S. Rosenberger, J. Tyler, R. GaleGonzalez, L. Motter, D. Deen, K. Dawley, C. Bassett, S. Kile, E. Murphy I. New Quick Links proposal Homepage Quick Links will have a new yellow color and will be organized into user sections: student, general visitors and business departments. This change was supported by the group. II. Foundation forms updated with CAPTCHA CAPTCHA is a device to prevent spammer robots from submitting forms to the college. This has been applied to the new forms on the Foundation for MCC web pages. III. Men’s & Women’s Basketball New photos of MCC’s Basketball players have been posted to the web. Also, Coach Schmidt is being inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame and special recognition has been added to the index page for Athletics and on the Men’s Basketball page. IV. “Where to Go for What” completed The “Where to Go for What” page has been updated to include clinical site locations, CTC’s and other sites used for MCC programs. Building codes have been added as well to assist students and others in finding locations called out in MCC’s many publications. V. Livingston Center New program initiatives have been added to the Livingston Center index page. These are presented in a rotation, so more material is available in a limited space. VI. Earth Day Web section MCC is collaborating with U of M – Flint this year and it is the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. The whole site was redone and the index page contains both MCC and U of M – Flint logos. VII. New Business D. McClure noted a problem of finding the Events area on the website. Auxiliary Services is the new title of a larger operation, however, Events services is not called out at all. A new Staff WebAdvisor button has been developed in conjunction with new Staff information that will become available through WebAdvisor in the near future. A question was posed about the web notification of the temporary relocation of the Testing Center to the RTC. All web material has been changed to note this with the exception of the Directory and that will be addressed. All participants were reminded that they can add items to the agenda prior to the meeting by using the link on the WDT Calendar page in the WDT Resources section. VIII.
