The average age of the students was 23 and it is a standard practice for the students to dress in suits and ties for the final exam. "The Polish students are very respectful and view education as a privilege," noted Prof. Goodman. "Excuses for not doing course work were unacceptable." After the class ended, Prof. Goodman invited her class to a local establishment to socialize and interact on a personal level. The majority of the students could speak an average of three languages and were very interested in the election of President Barack Obama.
