Anne Crites, Instructor in the Occupational Therapy Assistant
Program and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator shares news from her
area. Ten students from Club SOTA (Student Occupational Therapy
Assistant) attended the annual state conference for the Michigan Occupational Therapy Association along with chaperone, Wendy Early,
the Coordinator of the OTA Program, based at MCC’s Southern Lakes
Branch Center in Fenton. The conference was held Friday through

two workshops at the state conference. The first workshop was related to Fieldwork Education, including information on beginning a
student fieldwork program, student supervision and providing feedback to students. The second workshop was related to the clinical

examples and photographs of patients utilizing the tape.
Music Instructor Mari Straith Yancho was a presenter at the
Lilly Conference held in Traverse City Oct. 17-20. The topic was on

announces “See the Impact”
college campaign
Factory Five Build School at
MCC Livingston Center
featured on “Two Guys Garage”
reality TV show
The Foundation for Mott Community College has come up with a
novel title for the 2013 campaign to raise funds for the college, focusing on how MCC continues to empower and affect people’s lives. The
See the Impact College Campaign ‘13 is all about raising funds to assist the college by staying true to MCC’s mission of providing “high
quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities and services that cultivate student success and individual development and improve the overall quality of life in a multicultural community.” Your
donations help offset costs for programming, divisional and departmental needs, professional development, -- the list goes on.
The Foundation will be forwarding brochures announcing the campaign through campus mail, encouraging faculty and staff to envision
the possibilities, observe the impact that you have on students, see
how our students distinguish themselves in the workplace and in the
community and to look at how participating in this employee giving
campaign can benefit you. Pictured in the brochure are 13 sets of eyes
belonging to individuals associated with the college. A contest inviting
you to identify the eyes, with a chance at winning a $100 gift card,
will be held. The deadline for entries is Dec. 9, 2013. Gifts to the
Foundation for MCC can always be made by payroll deduction, check,
credit card or cash. For more information, call 762-0425.
