ON THE ROAD
Tis the season, and once again MCC is participating in the
College Town Food Drive to benefit the Foodbank of Eastern
Michigan. Food donations and cash donations are welcome,
however, “Cash/check donations are a better value for the
Foodbank,” according to Jennifer McDonald, executive director of Admissions & Recruitment. “Every $1 donated is equal
to 9 lbs. of food, because the Foodbank purchases food in bulk
at a discount,” she added.
Donation boxes are located around campus in the Business, Humanities, Health Sciences and Technology division offices. Food donations will be piled in the Prahl College Center
through Dec. 19. Cash and check donations can be given to
Dawn Vanniman in the Student Life Office (PCC 1240)
through Dec. 19. Make checks payable to: Foodbank of Eastern Michigan.
The College Town Food Drive is a competition between
MCC, Kettering University, UM-Flint and Baker College of
Flint to collect the most food and raise the most “food” dollars (cash donations). Kettering has won the
trophy five times and Baker College won it once. This year we need to bring the trophy to Bear Country! Let’s show Kettering, Baker and UM-Flint how we TURN UP THE ROAR!

Halloween Safety Program
MCC Public Safety Office and the Lapeer Extension Center hosted a Halloween Safety Program Oct. 28, for 53 second graders from
Chatfield Charter School and Turrill Elementary School. The party was a joint initiative between the Lapeer Extension Center (LEC) and

safety videos and were given Halloween safety tips by Public Safety officers. They were treated to a pizza lunch and given Halloween
goodie bags. The program was funded by donations from MCC Public Safety Office, Lapeer Extension Center, S&M Union Donation,
