On May 18,2012, the Maryland Higher Education Commission gave final approval. Three new Areas of Concentration were approved for these programs: Higher Education; Student Affairs; and International Education Policy. The College Student Personnel and Rehabilitation Counseling Areas of Concentration in the Counseling & Personnel Services degree programs were discontinued, as was the Higher and Adult Education Area of Concentrations in the Education Policy and Leadership programs. A copy of the approved proposal is attached. The change is effective Fall 2012. The College should ensure that the change is fully described in the Graduate Catalog and in all relevant descriptive materials, and that all advisors are informed.
