A copy of the approved proposal is attached. The changes are effective Spring 2010. The College should ensure that the changes are fully described in the Undergraduate Catalog and in all relevant descriptive materials, and that all advisors are informed. Details should be provided in an attachment. Provide old and new sample programsfor curriculum changes.) • • • • Remove GVPT 309 and GVPT 221/etc. as requirements. Add GVPT 419B and ENSP 330 as requirements. Replace ECON 381 (which is no longer offered) with AREC 240. Adjust Restricted Electives to confonu to campus course offerings and what students are actually taking. JUSTIFICATIONIREASONSIRESOURCES (Briefly explain the reasonfor the proposed action. Identify the source ofnew resources that may be required Details should be provided in an attachment.) • • • The departure of Dennis Pirages and Miranda Schreurs limits what we can offer in tenus of environmental courses, making it hard in particular to staff GVPT 309 Comparative Environmental Politics. One of the required courses no longer includes substantial environmental content. Development of new courses in GVPT and ENSP gives us an opportunity to strengthen the upper-level offerings. • • Replacing GVPT 221 with GVPT 419B will have no net impact on seats at the departmental level. Replacing GVPT 309 with ENSP 330 will reduce demand on seats in GVPT by about 12-15 students per year. Since GVPT ===_ s~PI1 :ering 309, we have been using various GVPT course~~tives, particularly 282. APPROVAL SIGNATURES - Please print nll1fle, sig 1.
