Funding to Support and Sponsor WKU Cares Tee Shirts
PURPOSE:
For the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University to
allocate $350.00 to purchase 50 WKU themed tournament t-shirts, to support
WKU Cares; a campaign to support the Western Kentucky branch of the RedCross in Madisonville, Kentucky.
WHEREAS: The t-shirt design promotes WKU school spirit and success, by acknowledging
our basketball team’s recent achievement in the NCAA tournament, and
WHEREAS: These t-shirts cost $7.00 to make and will be sold for $12.00 –with $5.00
proceeds donated to WKU Cares. The t-shirts will be for sale to all WKU
students, faculty, staff, as well as to the community, and
WHEREAS: All profits from the shirt will go directly towards tornado relief efforts in both the
Western Kentucky region of the state and in other parts of Kentucky affected by
the recent tornadoes. This campaign directly supports our own WKU students,
alumni, family, and friends of WKU, and
WHEREAS: With our Student Government Association logo added to the back design, our
support to both WKU athletics for the Hilltoppers successful basketball season
and the Western Kentucky disaster relief branch of the Red Cross will be more
visible. Such support will increase our public relations outreach to both campus
and the community, and
WHEREAS: GO TOPS!
THEREFORE:
For the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University
to allocate $350.00 from general Senate funding to purchase 50 WKU themed
tournament t-shirts, in support of WKU Cares; a campaign to support the Western
Kentucky branch of the Red-Cross in Madisonville, Kentucky.
