Accessing paws to document student issue was new to me and I would like to learn more about this 2. I signed up! 3. Great incentive for faculty to help keep students on track. 4. Great programs. Thank you. 5. Great stuff, will use. 6. This was an excellent presentation about a resource that I didn’t even know existed. It would be great to get regular updates of the success of this program. 7. Informative and helpful! 8. Excellent presentation. Good speaking points and interaction. 9. Good pacing and clear presentation. However, I would have liked a signing sheet to schedule class presentations on the spot. 10. Very relevant information which I plan to introduce to my students this semester. 11. Don’t read all the slides. 12. Mark does such a great job of presenting. He is very well-spoken. 13. Great, hopefully this is something that can be institutionalized. 14. Great job team! 15. Helpful to know about and glad we are doing this ESP. 16. Great panel and presentation. 17. Meeting the ESP team was also key in engaging more faculty. I would like to see future presentations involved the retention Data, and success rates with presentation. 21. Interesting information, but I don’t see myself using this data. ACCJC - THE NEW STANDARDS & THE QFE: DR. NORVAL WELLSFRY 1. Important content, however this was a very long presentation with no breaks makes for a boring presentation. 2. I am glad he finished early. He did a good job with a dry subject. 3. Why was 2.5 hours allotted for this presentation? 4. Did not seem appropriate for Flex days. 5. A lot of important info – maybe take a break in-between. 6. Ok, so I know it is relevant to staying accredited but so maybe learning indirectly. 7. Long “conversation” with key information that could have just been read from a concise list. 8. This presentation went on for too long and talked about very specialized information that was relevant to only a few people involved with accreditation. 9. Ambitious topic – too long. 10. Great information on SLO’s institutional planning. Interesting data. 11. Presentation extremely long (too long). Not interactive enough. Need breaks interspersed at 2.5 hour lecture. Finished early which was good. Felt I could read slides on my own. Info needs to be condensed and simplified. 12. Good content, boring speaker. Not relevant to everyone. Felt like a presentation for writing team only. 13. Bright spot: it was only much sooner than the scheduled time. 14. A bit dry for me but I am very familiar with accreditation. Probably very useful for newer folks. 15. Important, but not very engaging. 16. He talked to us as if we were all naïve, first-year faculty. Nothing new. Don’t insult us! 17. It was hard for me to stay engaged during this presentation. 18. Very boring and long. Could have read the slides instead. 19. More of a “dry” subject – however we are in the midst of an accreditation process. 20. Admin… yes relevant. Faculty … not so much – More important time for teaching. 21. Too long. 22. Made a complicated subject clear. 23. Very easy to understand. Calm smooth clear presentation. Thank you for the “easy to understand” power presentation. 24. Clear and important. He skipped through some of the new things that I would have been interested in, but overall very good. 25. An introduction to the new standards is always welcoming and eye-opening. He delivered a clear presentation with pertinent examples. I do recommend this session as a breakout, and not a general presentation. OEI: MICHELLE PILATI 1. Engaging, presented plethora of info. CURRICUNET & CREATING A SYLLABUS: CAROL KIMBROUGH 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Excellent information presented. Need copy of PPT available. I already know this information. Very helpful to gain info about developing new courses, etc. We really need a LAB flex day on using CurricUNET. Carol did a great job of breaking CurricUNET into feasible and practical steps. New additional faculty support – CurricUNET – lots of tech problems with entry of content and editing. NOT ROTTEN TO THE CORE – FROM APPLES TO EQUITY!: K. MENDELSOHN & A. ALARCON 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. Good discussion. Great presentation and discussion. Excellent. This was a good introduction. More communication needs to be done about student. Presentation began with good conceptual demonstration clarifying equity vs. equality. However, it proceeded to discuss hidden biases but instead became discussion/brainstorming equity activities. A different room would have helped with discussion. Helpful to know what might be available to our students someday. Need more scenarios and examples of how to improve equity. Great. Need laptop that has vi-fi connection that reaches left back end of room. Content is really good. INTRODUCTION TO CANVAS: LAURA LARK 1. Not enough computers out. Very useful. 2. Presentation somewhat random. High content, will use in fall/summer. Can’t learn in this format. 3. Laura does a superb job explaining and fielding faculty questions! A+. 4. This was very informative. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a laptop/computer to do the work. It was also unfortunate that it was at the end of the 2nd day, in a time in which most people felt very tired. 5. Not very organized presentation. Jumped around from subject to subject without really explaining the benefits of Canvas. Need to explain why we’re moving to this system, how it is better than Etudes. Why should we be happy about doing all this work? 6. Very popular session. I was able to setup canvas as instructed, but kept getting kicked off due to many people in the room using WI-FI. I was able to participate for the 1st hour. Brief discussion of items relevant to faculty contract. We had some time today after Dr. Wellsfry’s lecture which was beneficial. 7. Wasted a lot of time trying to get people on computers. Should have a bigger room like computer lab or just an intro presentation but not trying to get everyone on computer. Have time for faculty to discuss HCFA negotiations. We had a lot of discussion on voting items. This was great because everyone was there as well as union reps to answer questions. Maybe have it as a breakout session or other format. 8. Scheduling suggestion: if there’s just one day between the end of registration and the first day of class, don’t make it a day that’s completely taken up with meetings! Instructors have a lot to do in that interval. 9. I will be planning on using canvas. 10. Need more time. 11. Please have Laura Lark present anything! More on academic support centers (new labs?). Tutoring (what’s available). Early support. 12. Too much content in too little time. 13. Needed more sessions of this too packed, WI-FI to slow, presenter was great! Bring in experts about teaching on-line. Specific to subject areas – Math. 14. The session was not appropriate for “digital immigrants”. Extremely fast for me. Not clear for beginners. I am very confused. 15. Training too fast for me to keep up. Not all of us are at the same tech level. 16. Laura did an outstanding job. 17. Eye opening. We have a lot to learn. SAFE WORK AREA PRESENTATION: LINDSEY BERTOMEN 1. Very important. Need mock drills. 2. Very important info. We need to get re-trained on the stryker chairs. 3. Very important & good to know about. All faculty & staff should be trained on this.
