Written comments:
• I became very frustrated last fall when I needed to get in touch with my advisor to inform her the
internship I applied for was changing its dates to start 5 months later, and would affect registering for
it. I learned she was on sabbatical (but in the office) and could not talk to her. She was the only person
who could help/answer my questions. It took me over 2 months to talk to her after I yelled at someone.
If someone is going to be out of the office for that long, someone else needs to be informed on how to
handle the needs of their students! The library is the only quiet place to study.
• I would just like to say how happy I am with the overall efficiency and willingness of all the staff to
help out, no matter what the situation was. I am very proud to say that I am a Mott graduate. Every
phase of the Mott experience was exceptional. Now my wife is finishing up her degree. The one
negative about the campus is the sharing with the high school students. I share this negative opinion
along with almost all of my fellow students. The women feel intimidated by these disrespectful and
loud people - and I myself don't think that as a paying student I should have to put up with these
situations. I'm not sure how this program benefits Mott, but I don't think it outweighs the negatives
shared by myself and my fellow classmates. I would suggest that if they need to be there, assign them a
certain building and make sure they are limited to it. Unfortunately for Mott Security, they will never
be able to control this situation to the satisfaction of the majority of the students. These teens are
troubled and disrespectful and this takes away from an otherwise great experience.
• Parking needs improvement.
• While, I do realize that the amount of money that one student brings into the institution is minimal
compared to the thousands of students currently enrolled, my belief is all of the employees should have
extensive customer service training. I am certain that I am not the only student faced with these issues.
The employees and I both know that they still get their paychecks whether I get my classes or not. I am
not even sure this is where these types of comments should go, but I am taking advantage of it because
I have not been given any other option, by anyone. Thank you for your time.
• There needs to be more study areas in the MMB. All the women’s bathrooms need air freshener.
There is a lack of communication between Registration/Cashier, Academic Advising, and Financial
Aid. This makes it frustrating for the students because they will literally walk in circles trying to get
something taken care of.
• There was a 2 year wait to take clinical's. The nursing program takes as long as it would have to get a
BSN at U of M. I do let my friends know that. Too much money goes into how the campus looks
(sidewalk restoration, etc.) We need more parking.
• I was advised to take classes that I didn't need. There isn't enough parking. Some of the instructors
have a "GOD" complex. Classes weren't always offered at convenient times.
• Clerks in Registration are not friendly or helpful. They are rude and lazy. Great instructors in the
RTC building.
• Need food services. The quality of instruction depended on the teacher.
• I loved my classes at Mott and can hardly believe I reached my goal.
• Need to have more lighting in the parking ramp. Need something besides vending machines for food.
The Bookstore is too expensive.
