Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, physical assault, battery, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior perpetrated by an intimate partner against another. Domestic violence knows no boundaries, claiming victims of all ages, economic status’, race, religion, nationality and educational backgrounds. It does show a systematic pattern of dominance and control resulting in physical injury, psychological trauma and sometimes even death. One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime. As many as 60% of perpetrators of intimate partner violence also abuse children in the household. Yet, despite prison walls, these women have learned from their past and advo- Annual Security Report In 1990, Congress enacted the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act that is now know as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. Compliance with the Clery Act requires Mott Community College to provide timely notification of the campus community of certain crimes or incidents that are (a) reported to campus security authorities or local police agencies, and (b) considered by the institution to represent a serious or continuing threat to students and employees. The Act also requires that we collect, maintain and disclose campus crime statistics. You can find these statistics in the Annual Security Report (ASR) . The ASR can be found online on the Department of Public Safety webpage at www.mcc.edu. or ask any of your Public Safety officers and representatives for a hard copy. We’ll be glad to give you a copy!
