Happy Thursday!
January 7 is an odd celebration called “Old Rock Day”. It celebrates
those with rock collections and fossils. Many people collect
rocks…what do you collect? Or, what would you like to collect?
Begin to copy down your assignments, and for morning work,
complete Problem of the Week 15 in your blue packet.
When you complete your morning work, you can think about the
following brainteaser. We will check at morning meeting. Which
single digit number increases value when turned upside down? Keep
your answers to yourself!

Good Morning!
Today we will meet with first graders from Miss Parkinson’s class.
We will meet with them at 10:05. Remember what it’s like to work
with a first grader! Some of you will work in our classroom with a
first grader, and others will be in Miss Parkinson’s room.
We are completing this activity in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s
birthday. We celebrate by having Monday off from school, but
many organizations do volunteer work to honor MLK Jr.
Begin the word search on your desk. We will watch a quick Brain
Pop this morning.
