Moved to cover the full cost of the altar and the tree ($600 +
300 approximately)
Need to ensure allocate $200- donation for the Catholic
Leadership award at graduation

Knowing the learner PD day focus
o 4 presentations on different technology strategies to
engage their students in the classroom
o Teachers had an opportunity to learn different
strategies from their peers
o Continue in staff meetings
PED policy at SJA introduced – use in classroom for
educational purposes only
Need to look at providing education around digital
citizenship – what does that mean?
o Role of assigned community police officer
o Identified an officer that is specialized in digital
citizenship to present to teachers and students
o Agreed by parents to have officer present at school
council
Academic Awards nights – November 5, 2015
EQAO – Results to be sent out by mail by end of week
Progress reports @ approx. 6 weeks in October 19th
Oct 22nd – Parent interviews
Mid-term reports in November
Sports teams – fall session started
Encourage participation – clubs for all activities
University fair – Metro Convention Centre this weekend –
Sept 25-27th
Chaplaincy group – VOICE – encouraging – high turn out
(60 students) – Tuesdays
Leadership group – vision day to set mandates
Retreats have begun (early October) – Gr 9 - switch to
smaller groups versus the large one in the past few years,
Gr 10 – in Regent Park starting tomorrow, Gr.11 Camp
Brebeuf, Gr.12- Regeneration – soup kitchen in Brampton
Sept 29th – School Mass
24 Hours of Hope – December – forms in 3 weeks to be
sent home (Leadership training begins next week)
Food drive starting soon for Thanksgiving – categories bv
grade to target needs at food banks
Salesian Retreat – 6 this year – 3 day retreat – great
leadership opportunity (3 per semester)
