A Prayer for Mothers
Loving God,
as a Mother gives life and nourishment
to her children,
so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women, that they may be
strengthened as Christian Mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love
shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and
daughters, may honour them always
with a spirit of profound respect.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Principal’s Message
Dear Parents,
May is a very special month because it is when we
honour Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Mary symbolizes
the love we have for all of our mothers. When we celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 8th we connect
our mother’s love to the love Mary has for Jesus. The
Rosary is a wonderful way to reaffirm our devotion to
Mary. This month we also celebrate Catholic
Education Week, beginning on May 2nd through to
May 6th. We have a variety of activities to show how
special St. Helen School is as a Catholic School.
Please see the schedule of events and hope you are
able to attend.
Thank you to all our parent volunteers for donating
your time and talents on school field trips, classroom
activities, driving students to team sports events, and
for serving on our School Council.
The year is passing quickly and I really appreciate the
partnership we have seen with home, school and St.
Christopher’s Parish. Continue to make your own sunshine and see the positive in each day.
God Bless,
Connie Gale

LATES
A number of students continue to arrive late on a daily basis. Any student arriving after the 9:00 a.m. bell
is considered late and should report to the office.
Lates are recorded as part of each student’s attendance profile. When a child is late they miss valuable
teaching time. Late arrivals cause disruption to the
other students and also to the teacher who has already started lessons for the day. Developing good
work habits and time management skills can maximize a child’s learning potential. Let’s work together
to develop these skills. If your child is going to be
late or absent please always inform our school at 905
-822-4564.
