Among the findings:
LENT
Lent is the forty-day period before Easter. It begins on Ash
Wednesday. We skip Sundays when we count the forty
days, because Sundays commemorate the Resurrection.
Lent begins on 25 February 2009 and ends on
11 April 2009, which is the day before Easter.

education in Dufferin-Peel schools is very high.

Support for the board to continue to manage its
resources responsibly, with transparency and
accountability of financial reporting.
Calls for increased funding for programs such as
special education and/or English Language Learner

GRADE 7 DIVERSITY
CONFERENCE
On Thursday, January 29, 2009, our Grade 7 students had
the opportunity to attend a Diversity conference at Notre
Dame Secondary School, with other Grade 7 classes from
the Brampton Central Family of Schools. The day was an
overwhelming success and the students brought back to
school many good lessons. Thanks to all who organized it
and a special thanks to our superintendent, Mr. Tucciarone,
who provided funding for this important initiative.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
February was Black History Month. This year, to
remember the important people and events in the history of
Africa, Grade 8 students researched and designed
incredible and effective PowerPoint presentations.
Through these presentations, students recognized the
significant contributions made to society by black people.
The grade 8 students incorporated, not only pictures and
facts, but videos to really bring forth the true essence of
Black History month.

had all the required doses of vaccine (e.g. infant
and booster doses) or
