Fourteen of the 15 items are based on the institution’s 6 core competencies as categorized below. One
question has also been included about access to technology. To ensure the most valid responses, the
items have been re-ordered so that not all related items (i.e., within the same core competency
category) occur consecutively. Please note that 5 CCSSE special focus items precede our 15 custom
survey items, which is why the additional items are numbered from 6 through 20 [in brackets].
