hereby grant to the University of Houston for its Arte Público Press (“Publisher”) the non-exclusive
right to publish the works below in the English and Spanish languages in the United States and in the
world. The works will be published in:

I hereby warrant that I am the sole author of these works, that I have the full power to make this
Agreement, that the Works do not violate the privacy of any person nor are they libelous nor do they
infringe upon the copyright of or violate any other right of any person. I will, to the extent authorized
under the laws and constitution of the State of Texas, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Publisher
and/or its licensees, against all claims, suits, costs, damages, and expenses that Publisher or its
licensees may sustain by reason of any libelous or unlawful material contained in the Work or any
infringement or violation by the Work of any copyright or property right.
This document constitutes the sole agreement of the parties and supersedes any other oral or written
understandings or agreements. This Agreement may not be amended or otherwise altered except upon
the written agreement of both parties. This agreement will be construed under the laws of the state of
Texas (exclusive of choice of law provisions thereof) and venue for any proceeding hereunder shall be
in Harris County, Texas.
