We are now reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing or Double Fudge. We will be delving into nonfiction reading next week. Language Arts We can solve vocabulary puzzles using context clues and prior knowledge. Our Plurals Booklet is complete and can be used to correctly spell plural words using the rules. Math We can subtract using the standard subtraction algorithm with trading. We can check our subtraction with the addition algorithm. Science We learned how new bridges are constructed (example Tappan Zee Bridge in NY). Social Studies We are learning about the resources of the NE region. We wrote questions. We looked at an actual photograph of the rock. We made Thesaurus Turkeys, finding synonyms for a word of the student's choice. NOVEMBER - DECEMBER BOOK REPORT The book report will be about Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing or Double Fudge. Please be sure your child has finished his/her book by Tuesday, Dec. 1st. Baseball Review Game - We played baseball to review the resources of the Northeast, using student made questions. Watch for the directions for the project next week. Northeast States and Capitals - I saw a BIG improvement on the second test on these states. I am so proud of all of the students who improved their grades!
