A new year is unfolding –
Like a blossom with
Petals curled tightly
Concealing the beauty within.
Lord, let this year be filled with
The things that are truly good -
With the comfort of warmth in our relationships, with the strength to help those who really need our help and the humility and openness to accept help from others.
As we make our resolutions for the year ahead,
let us go forward with great hope
that all things can be possible with your help and guidance.

Catholic School Heritage
How long have Catholic Separate schools been educating Catholic children and contributing to the public good in Ontario?
For about 170 years. In the early 1800’s there were separate schools in many cities, towns and townships. In Peel, three separate schools opened before Confederation
(1867): St. James in Malton in the 1830’s, St. John’s Agricultural College in 1861 and St. Patrick’s (1861), both in
Wildfield.

THANK YOU FROM GUARDIAN ANGELS
PARISH

Gogolewski on behalf of Guardian Angels Parish thanking our staff and students for the many angels they created for the Guardian Angels Christmas Tree. The angels were purchased by many parishioners and the funds have been invested in the parish’s building fund.
Fr. Jan also thanks the community for the generous donation of $500.00 toward the parish’s building fund.
He writes, “I thank you, not just in my name, but in the name of all who will benefit from a church in which they will be able to worship and praise God, attend Mass and be able to celebrate the Holy Sacraments. You showed true Christmas Spirit and I know Christ our Saviour loves you for it. Keep up the good work.”

JANUARY’S VIRTUE OF THE MONTH:
Self Control
I have self control. I know how to get things done on my own. I have control over my feelings. I make good decisions in the way I act and speak.
What is Self-Control/Decision Making?
Self Control/Decision making is a set of behaviors that help you:
Understand that the only thing in life which you can change and control is yourself .
Keep in check any unacceptable behaviours that may hurt yourself or others.
Realize that you are the master of your own destiny .
Keep your life in balance and focused by helping you cope with new challenges that come your way.
Keep your emotional responses in check or help you use moderation .
Accept personal responsibilities in life.
Reflect on your inner desire to grow up into a mature, responsible adult.
Self Control is restraint practiced over one‛s own emotions, impulses or desires.
