Salt and Light Television offers opportunities for dedicated, enthusiastic, mature and friendly students to work as
part of a Catholic television team.
This co-op student(s) will gain practical experience and start networking in the field of television production in a
professional environment. It is essential that the student(s) be highly motivated, self-directed, outgoing and
interested in this field.
Preference will be given to students who have successfully completed a senior level communication technology
course but other candidates may apply.
The hours involved are from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday or Tuesday to Friday depending on the
school’s integration day.
The students applying for these placements:
 Must be from semestered schools only – students are needed on a daily basis
 Must complete the application form including start and end dates and hours per week.
The placement can only accommodate TWO co-op students for Spring 2014.
Students will be interviewed for the three positions listed below but only the TWO most qualified students
will be chosen.
Strong English language skills are required for all positions.
People with fluency in French, Italian, Cantonese or Mandarin will be given priority.
Possible Positions Available:
1.




Technical Assistant- 1 position
Advance knowledge of computer and network system
Learn to capture video on S+L web
Learn to capture images into S+L archive system
Learn to transfer video and audio footage to Avid system for editing purpose
2. Production Assistant- 1 position
 Studio set up
 Must be interested in and learning all aspects of Television Production (Camera, Lighting, Audio and
Video Tape Operations).
 Good communication skills
 Ability to transcribe interviews
3. Marketing Assistant – 1 position
 Webmaster/Graphic Design Assistant
 Require web experience (HTML/CSS; Wordpress; Photoshop)
