STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION
• Panther Prep Days 2016 is rapidly approaching
• Anticipate serving 400 incoming first year students in King City
and 1,000 first year students on the Main Campus
• Assistance needed: contact our College Pathways Coordinator,
Sara Sanchez, ssanchez@hartnell.edu or Administrative Assistant,
Isaura Arreguin at iarreguin@hartnell.edu
• Counseling Department developed a new, online classroom
success strategy workshop for students.
• Veterans Resource Center now has a full-time certifying official
and will have a full-time Counselor position before the end of
the Spring 2016 semester.
• CalWORKs program hired full-time CalWORKs Counselor, Dr.
Nancy Reyes.
• Amy Lehman, the new Director of DSP&S, began her position on
February 8, 2016.

STUDENT AFFAIRS DIVISION
• Hartnell HEP is currently on its last semester of this 5-year cycle
and will be sun-setting on June 30th, 2016. We submitted an
application for the 2016 grant competition on Friday, March 4th,
and should hear back from the Office of Migrant Education
(OME) sometime in mid-June.
• Opened the doors to Mi CASA, the Center for Achievement and
Student Advancement, which provides advocacy, case
management, academic counseling and other services to
Dreamer students at Hartnell College.
• Officially launched the Men’s Institute for Leadership and
Education (MILE). MILE is the male counterpart to the Women’s
Education and Leadership Institute (WELI).
• Academic year 2015-16 marks the first year of our new 5-year
TRIO grant. During the first year focus is on retention activities
that complement the work of our SSSP and SEP programs.
